Karen Kassik

Karen R. Kassik is an expert in Residential Design. She has been designing custom homes and remodeling existing homes for over 20 years. Karen is a Certified Professional Building Designer, a Certified Green Professional as well as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist.

In 2002, Karen brought her then 66-year-old mother home to live with her. Immediately, the challenges of narrow doors, step-down rooms, and standard bathroom configurations became obvious. There had to be a better way. So Karen designed a new home for her and her mom to move into. The new home is “Aging in Place” friendly; wide doors, wide halls, accessible bathrooms, no step downs, etc. Now her mom has great mobility within the home and can be much more self supportive.

Karen recognized this need not only for herself, but for many of her clients. After a 20 year tenure with Lucia, Kassik and Monday, Inc., her architectural firm in Winter Park, Florida, Karen is very excited to create her own new entity: Home Accessibilities.
